BSFF Foundation Training for Professionals
Graduates of this training will be able to:

Describe the Be Set Free Fast method succinctly in laymens or professional terms (as appropriate) to prospective clients, colleagues, supervisors, and licensing reviewers

Educate clients regarding the concepts, principles, and terminology contained in the method
-
Teach the method’s general procedure to clients

List the features involved in scoping the client’s problem in preparation for BSFF intervention
-
Guide clients through the general procedure from start to closing in a single session
-
Facilitate clients’ processing the effects of the intervention at every stage
-
Teach clients the self-help version of the method for practicing between and for post-therapy personal emotional and psychological hygiene

BSFF Foundation CE trainings are designed with the following target audiences in mind:

Foundation Training for Professionals – Introductory training in the professional application of BSFF by doctoral and other postgraduate-level clinicians (Prerequisite: Introduction to Be Set Free Fast eCourse)

Schedule: Six weekly three-hour meetings on zoom to review homework practice and interim learning from recorded presentations, receive didactic instruction, participate in group exercises, participate in supervised breakout room practice sessions, debrief and identify LOs addressed to date.

Instructor: Alfred B. Heath is a Virginia-licensed Professional Counselor (license # 0701003179) with over 30 years of experience providing professional mental health, substance abuse, and disability counseling. He holds a Master of Arts, Psychological Services degree (Concentration: Counseling) from Marymount University, Arlington Virginia. He has served in roles as a Career Counselor (United States Air Force), Residential Counselor for Adults with Disabilities (City of Alexandria, VA), Outpatient Mental Health Therapist (Loudoun County Mental Health Services), Senior Substance Abuse Therapist (Prince William County Community Services Board), and currently runs a part-time private psychotherapy practice and a BSFF-based training, consultation and coaching business. Alfred Heath has been practicing Be Set Free Fast professionally since 2004 and was designated a BSFF Trainer by the method’s creator Dr. Larry Nims in 2009. In addition to his own training events, Mr. Heath was selected by Dr. Nims to be his only co-trainer for the 10 years prior to his retirement. In 2015, Dr. Nims designated Alfred Heath master trainer of Be Set Free Fast, at which point Mr. Heath founded the Be Set Free Fast Education and Training Academy, LLC to develop and refine training curricula and practice standards for professionals. Mr. Heath is currently the only master trainer of BSFF worldwide.

Describe how to tailor the general BSFF procedure to categories of mental health diagnoses: adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, panic, anger, bereavement, post-traumatic stress

List the features of a well-defined outcome elicited from the client to facilitate progress to supplement the problem-resolution perspective during a BSFF session.

Describe how to tailor BSFF intervention to address each state of autonomic dysregulation

Describe and demonstrate how to appropriately document BSFF therapy in clinical notes.

This BSFF CE training is designed with the following target audiences in mind:
Intermediate Training for Clinicians – Intermediate training for doctoral and other postgraduate clinicians who have demonstrated competency in the applying the method professionally (prerequisite: Foundation Training). Focused on tailoring the methodology to specific client populations

Intermediate Training – Six weekly 2-hour zoom meetings with didactic instruction, demonstrations, group exercises, Q&A, and review of learning objectives covered
Cost: $397 (Refund/cancellation policy: Once registered, participants may cancel up to 1 week prior to training and receive a full refund.
